WebJul 6, 2009 · Garnet-rich zones, on the scale of decimeters to a few meters, are present in nearly all rock types of the SMB, but they are most common along and near contacts with the metapelitic Halifax Group. There, the garnet-rich zones make up ≤2 vol. % of the rocks (Fig. 3a). Garnet crystals are subhedral, and up to c. 2 cm in size (Fig. 5; Table 1).

WebTypical stratiform-like cassiterite–sulfide orebodies formed at 160–150 Ma cut by a steep hydrothermal vein-type orebody were discovered in the Xianghualing tin–polymetallic orefield, which implied a new phase of magmatism and mineralization later than the Late Jurassic stage. Hence, a systematic study of the characteristics and … WebSupplemental material: Dynamic growth of garnet in granitic magmas. WebThe widespread W-(Mo)-Sn-Nb-Ta polymetallic mineralization in Southeast (SE) China is genetically associated with Mesozoic highly fractionated granitic rocks. Such rocks have enigmatic mineralogical and geochemical features, making its petrogenesis an intensely debated topic. Elemental maps and electron-microprobe analyses show that garnet has an irregular P distribution, with …
WebNov 1, 2001 · This arises from the fact that the geochemical compositions of granitic magmas reflect the compositions of their source rocks rather than their tectonic setting (e.g. Pearce et al., 1984). For example, the geochemical classification is not able to distinguish a granitoid formed in a subduction setting and one formed from source rocks that had ...
