WebGrowth hormone-releasing peptide-2 (GHRP-2), a potent GH secretagogue, also stimulates adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) secretion. To evaluate the role of GHRP-2 in assessing the HPA axis, we examined 6 patients with various hypothalamo-pituitary disorders, and measured ACTH and cortisol responses during provocative tests (ITT, CRH, and GHRP-2 test). WebGHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are also peptides which trigger the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R) and lead to a spike in growth hormone levels. They notably increase mean GH levels and IGF-1 levels after prolonged use. The half-life of GHRP-2 is about 30 minutes and about 2-3 hours for GHRP-6. All 3 peptides can increase bone mineral content in rats.
